This stunner started its life as a design back in April of 2010 called English Garden and recently returned to us to be "Re-Vintaged" from a lovely customer who had cherished it as a gift for her mother. Though we loved the original vintage floral Stratton compact, we've had this incredible vintage handmade marquetry compact for a few years, just waiting for the right beads to accompany it in a necklace. The craftsmanship and precision of the inlaid wood design is impeccable, and no detail has been overlooked, from the starred lid to the hinged door within. Stripes, angles and a subtle sheen to the materials all make for such a marvelous work of art, and suspended from glossy black glass beads, it's a statement style sure to be noticed and enjoyed. A gold vermeil and black crystal toggle clasps the necklace at 21" length. (Compact measures 3.5" diameter.)
*Note: there is some slight water damage to the compact in the form of faint yellowing to the wood. This is mostly visible as a ring on the reverse of the compact. Please see images for details. We still felt it a compelling and beautiful piece, and this imperfection is reflected in a reduced price.
