It was so fun to see local lady Stephanie Heller of Humana wearing a one-of-a-kind Elva Fields necklace (“Fringe in Front”) and a pair of June earrings in this month’s Today’s Woman magazine. She looks stylish and sassy in her Clodhoppers ensemble and our jewels…definitely does us proud!

Elva Fields will be on the runway yet again for this year’s Younger Woman’s Club Fashion Show to benefit local charitable organizations here in Louisville. Join us Wednesday, March 11th at the Mellwood Arts and Entertainment Center at 6:30 to bid on silent auction items and enjoy the fashions at 8 with complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. One month turned into two, and now we’re almost up to three, so I decided it was about time I got back to work after baby’s arrival on December 16th (when I was literally having contractions and finishing up the last few holiday orders!)

It’s good to be back in the studio, and even better now that I have company! Besides Ann and Jane (our official Elva Fields canine mascots), daughter Viva joins me at work every day—mainly supervising the jewelry manufacturing process (i.e. Mom busy with beads and pliers) from her play mat. We have no doubt she’ll soon be running the place.

Well…just to keep our favorite Elva Fields customers in the loop, we thought we’d spill the beans (about 10 months later!) that owner Emily Wheat Maynard has a bun in the oven! She’s been in the studio working like crazy to create lots of great jewels for the holidays…even through last Monday’s due date.

With the impending arrival of baby girl Maynard (any day now…really), she may have other “creations” to tend to…so please forgive any delay of email responses, shipments, or orders in the coming weeks. We’re 99.9% sure we have our bases covered, but—just in case—we wanted you to know the Elva scoop should there be any jewelry-related drama.

And…as proof that Emily’s been belly-up to the designing table for the past few months, here is a shot that amazing photographer Brenda Brooks took in the studio of a very pregnant designer at work! Elva Fields is over the moon about the holiday edition of Her Scene magazine—not only are some fantastic photos of our jewelry peppered throughout the entire issue, but we landed our first ever cover shot!

We think the golden Deb necklace looks fabulous in the limelight and hope you do, too. Thanks to the fantastic crew from the Courier Journal who schemed, selected, interviewed, photographed, and wrote about Elva Fields Jewelry—our first cover is a thrill!
