Rectangular beads of polished sakara jasper, its pale pink clouds of pattern through a dark, nearly-black stone, are statement-making on their own, the thickly-sliced beads each offering such rare beauty in their pattern and arrangement. Yet, holding its own at front center is an unexpected addition: a vintage porcelain-lidded keepsake box from China showing a spring-inspired story in its glazed finish with a butterfly lofting lightly near a bloming flower. The box, then, becomes a sort of locket, ready to hold a special treasure or capture the imagination. Measuring a longer, flattering length of 20.5", the necklace is clasped by a silvered copper toggle at back.
