The discovery of these beads brought instant joy, the kind that renews again and again with each close study, finding new delightful details over which to swoon and smile. Made by hand in Java and modeled after a traditional and celebrated Venetian glass style made on the island of Murano as early as the 13th or 14th century, the swirled, striped look of the beads is created by twisted ribbon-like canes of colorful glass wound around the bead's heated surface. Color combinations are incredibly rich and unexpected, like salmon pink, clementine orange, and a bit of mauve or aqua blue with mint green and a hint of crimson or even a pale blush pink with lemon yellow and jade green.
We couldn't help but create a small-batch style (in very limited edition) with these irresistible works of art. The ribbony style of the beads' stripes reminds us of ribbon tied in a bow atop a beautiful gift, and we love the subtle, yet colorful, reminder that each day is a gift, an opportunity to be present to and for the wonders, the beauty, the challenges, the variety, the connection, the hope, the vibrant experiences each day brings.
Here, the beautiful beads are fastened by an oversized gold-over-brass spring ring clasp at 18" length. Simply fasten it on and go glamorously, enjoying each day as it comes.
Note: This is a very limited edition style that is made to order. Each necklace is unique in its assortment of beads, and we have a second "Each Day" necklace style available with a black and white knotted nylon cord finish rather than the traditional clasp finish seen here.
