Was Roped In

Elva Fields

Inspired by striped chevron glass beads from Africa (which were themselves inspired by Venetian glass beads before that) these patterned beauties from Nepal (uncommon and entirely wonderful in their craftsmanship) immediately roped us in. In red and white with hints of blue and green, it's a marvelous mix that seemed the most stylish setting for a vintage flower brooch at the side. With rope-like petals in a decidedly 1960s style, the golden finish plays on the faceted brass beads throughout the four-strand drape for a look that is able to accompany at a cocktail fête as easily as at an afternoon of errand-running or office calls. A gilt copper toggle clasps at back. Measures 18.25" length, shortest strand.
