We found this carved vintage celluloid ornament in a box of forgotten and discarded jewelry pieces at a favorite flea last year and always thought it would make the most wonderful pendant. We adore its carved heart design, seeing the graceful arcs and linear decoration as joy flowing to and from the heart, and the faux ivory look means it goes with nearly everything under the sun. Despite all of this, it sat in the studio...until we realized that color might be just the thing to bring the overlooked lovely to life. Carved and polished gemstone triangles--in stones like howlite, rock crystal, rose quartz, aventurine, sodalite, lapis, smoky quartz, and onyx--alternate with tiny vintage glass seed beads and lead to an embossed gilt copper tube clasp at back. At a longer, flattering length of 30", this one stands beautifully on its own or is ready for layering with some of your other favorite necklaces--however your heart desires.
