Though we found this beautiful brooch some time ago, it has stayed in the studio, just waiting for the right pairing of beads to come along. We certainly considered a dark-hued bead with the nearly-black resin and brass composition of the brooch, but something about the beautifully-detailed ivy leaf decoration within the brass band of the design led us to consider green as a possibility. The pairing is wonderful: the slices of agate show beautiful variation in hue and transparency, and their natural nugget shape lends such an elegant easiness to the overall effect. In short, it seems that sometimes great things come to those who wait. Measures 18" length, pendant 3" length.
