Filled with Luck
Elva Fields
Legend and lore related to the horseshoe are of two main ideas. In the first, a horseshoe positioned like a "U" can be "filled" with luck, holding it in to keep, preserve, and enjoy. In the second, a horseshoe positioned like an upside-down "U" pours the luck out, sharing it with others and all around. Here, a gorgeous glass gem is filled with luck; the antique style, made by hand in Germany in the 20s or 30s using a very labor-intensive layering process, glitters with good fortune. Choose from six different color combinations, each with their own fortuitous, fashionable vibe: sky blue with royal blue horseshoe, candy pink with deep pink horseshoe, ivory with emerald green horseshoe, camel with deep pink horseshoe, lilac purple with emerald green horseshoe, or black with silver horseshoe. Each tiny oval cameo measures 0.5" overall and suspends from a gilt brass chain measuring 16" with a spring ring clasp at back.
