Dogwoods in Bloom

We may have gasped audibly when we discovered these dogwoods at a favorite flea recently. Truly, we'd not seen anything quite like them before--in both scale and quality--and their dynamic detail was nothing short of stunning. A bit of research revealed that the set (a brooch and earrings) was rendered in sterling silver by renowned jeweler Gugliemo Cini, who founded his jewelry firm celebrated for its intricate, beautiful, and high-quality sterling creations in 1922. Here, the blooms rest at the side of matte-finished lacquered shell pearls in a soft silvery metallic. The overall effect is luminous and lovely, and the adjustable silvered copper clasp at back allows graceful lengths ranging from 18 to 19" overall.
